There’s still time to submit comment on the draft of a governance framework for the United States to adopt ubiquitous faster payments by 2020. The Federal Reserve Faster Payments Task Force identified such a framework as critical to achieving faster payments last year, and its Governance Framework Formation Team (GFFT) is seeking feedback on its first attempt.
The design of the framework remains a work in progress, with a number of open issues, including the board and funding structure. Feedback from the corporate treasury community is important to ensure the U.S. Faster Payments Council meets the needs of financial professionals.
As part of an effort to clear up some of the confusion around the proposed framework, AFP is hosting a webinar this Friday. Join Reed Luhtanen, Senior Director Global Treasury for Walmart; Matt Friend, Head of Product Strategy and New Product Development for Visa; and Magnus Carlsson, Manager, Payments and Treasury for AFP; for an in-depth discussion of the Faster Payments Council’s progress in the faster payments initiative.
The Next Steps in the Payments Improvements Journey - Faster Payments Council (FPC), runs from 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Friday, June 15. Register here.
