With implementation of ISO 20022 in the United States drawing closer, treasury and finance professionals who want to sharpen their knowledge of the standard should tune in for one of two upcoming webinars being offered by the Federal Reserve.
In 2013, the New York Fed, The Clearing House, NACHA and the Accredited Standards Committee X9 worked on a business case assessment for adoption of ISO 20022 for payments in the United States. A study, conducted by an independent consultant, found that there may be more strategic reasons than a financial business case for adopting the standard. In the fall of 2014, AFP held a three-part webinar series on ISO 20022, including a general introduction, a discussion on a business case assessment, and a corporate case study of how an implementation of the standard can transpire.
On May 19 and June 3 at 3:00 pm EST the Federal Reserve will hold webinars with updated information on the ISO 20022 standard, the business case assessment, and how it will fit into the Fed’s Strategies for Improving the U.S. Payment System initiative.
This is a good opportunity to get the most recent information and learn more about ISO 20022.
