AFP has launched the 2016 AFP FP&A Benchmarking Survey, in partnership with IBM. The survey aims to provide financial professionals with data to identify best practices and improve processes within their organization. It includes questions on key financial planning and analysis (FP&A) metrics and policies with the goal of identifying benchmark FP&A operations.

The survey includes about 30 questions (including demographic questions) and can be completed in stages and at participants’ convenience. Upon completion, survey participants have the option to download an instant customized benchmarking report comparing their results with those of their peers. Participants will be able to continue to avail of updated benchmarking information through January 2017.

Initially, benchmarking information will be provided for only those questions for which previously validated data already exists in the database. As the survey generates more responses, the benchmarking report will be more robust and peer comparisons for all metrics and business drivers will be available.

AFP will be interviewing FP&A professionals to better understand how they have been successful in providing value to their organizations. The data collected in this survey and information gathered from the interviews will form the basis of a comprehensive survey report and an executive summary report AFP will release in the fall.

Participation is critical to ensure the success of this project. The survey will close Friday, April 15. For more information and to participate visit the FP&A Benchmarking webpage.
