The Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) and Beacon FinTrain have joined forces to offer special training courses for treasury and finance professionals throughout the Middle East. The courses will equip financial professionals with the tools they need to earn the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and the Certified Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Professional certifications.

Based in Egypt, Beacon FinTrain offers online and in-person training programs for the treasury and finance profession. Beacon has enrolled more than 150 practitioners in its CTP training programs over the past two years and is in the early stages of bringing in practitioners for the FP&A courses. The entire process, from enrollment to graduation, takes about seven months.

“As a crucial partner for AFP in the Middle East, Beacon FinTrain has helped many financial professionals in the region prepare for the CTP exam,” said Jim Kaitz, president and CEO of AFP. “Now, as FinTrain expands its programs to include the FP&A Certification, this partnership will only grow in significance. Both of these certifications can help practitioners increase their skills and further their careers.”

“FinTrain follows the ADDIE Model instructional systems design framework; all training courses are based on Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate course content to grant applicability via real world complications,” said Mina Nasif, president and CEO of Beacon FinTrain.

Many practitioners who have graduated from Beacon FinTrain’s courses and earned the CTP certifications have gone on to lead digital transformation projects and manage corporate finance activities for multinational corporations and banks in Egypt. Beacon FinTrain is currently preparing for its annual grand graduation ceremony.

About the Certifications

The CTP designation, sponsored by AFP, serves as a benchmark of competency in the finance profession and is recognized as the leading credential in corporate treasury worldwide. The CTP credential signifies that treasury practitioners have demonstrated the knowledge and skills required to effectively execute critical functions related to corporate liquidity, capital and risk management.

The FP&A credential also sponsored by AFP, establishes a set of core competencies for the corporate financial planning and analysis profession and addresses areas that are not necessarily covered by a traditional degree. It is the only credential that is specific to FP&A; it is forward-looking and assesses the ability to see the big picture. Certified FP&A professionals are specially equipped to mitigate uncertainty and see beyond the numbers; they strive to make the numbers work to determine holistic strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting that ties into the goals of the business.
