Few finance processes are more maligned than the budgeting process. Yet, their existence suggests they continue to serve a necessary purpose. The Association for Financial Professionals® (AFP) conducted an FP&A survey to determine who uses budgets, what they are used for, and why they remain in force today.  Attendees will learn the surprising results from the survey and discuss how budgets have changed over time, and how their peers are using them now.

Stacy Cunningham

Stacy Cunningham has worked in FP&A at Gannett for 10 years, the first 8 years within the digital operations and the last 2 within the corporate department. In her current role, Stacy focuses on rolling up the consolidated monthly results and forecasts and also manages the annual budgeting process. She is also responsible for the company’s long range model and recently took over investor relations responsibilities.

Pete Geiler has worked FP&A in large companies and small, across multiple industries.  Telecom, healthcare, consulting, education, software and non-profits cover the breadth of experience, with extensive experience in the field of costing.  As a Certified FP&A professional, he has always spent time with operations to gain a better sense of the client’s business.  He is currently helping a non-profit by managing the entire finance function.

Jill Bowman has been a part of the Finance team at Pediatric Home Service for nearly 10 years, focusing on the annual budgeting process, financial reporting, profitability and cost management, corporate insurance, and sales tax. She has gained related experience at previous positions in health care and other industries.
