When do you need to recertify?

  • You need to recertify every three years.
  • Recertification happens in June for everyone. So, if you're recertifying for the first time, and you took your exam in the winter, you'll recertify a little earlier the first time.
  • When you're logged in, you can see the date that your certification expires. Just click on “My AFP”, then navigate to AFP Recertification

What's required to recertify?

  • You need to earn 36 continuing education credits, then submit your recertification.
    • These continuing education activities should be related to the current edition of the CTP Body of Knowledge, Essentials of Treasury Management.
    • Activities don't have to be sponsored by or pre-approved by AFP.
    • You should assess activities to be sure they qualify.
    • Continuing education covers many categories and activities.

  • You will need to document your continuing education activities for when you submit your recertification.

How do I file for recertification?

  1. Earn 36 recertification credits by June 30.
  2. Report your credits.
  3. Pay the recertification fee.
