Women in Finance, a quarterly professional development newsletter, is the publication of AFP's Women in Finance community. It is open to anyone. Under the direction of an editorial board that includes past conference speakers and successful AFP members who have demonstrated leadership in finance, it features interviews with senior level corporate practitioners and bankers, book reviews, research results and other information of interest to the profession. A mix of information addresses several audiences, including leaders in the profession, aspiring leaders, mentors, peers, managers and HR professionals. The newsletter's PDF format allows for rich presentation of charts and graphs, as well as hyperlinks to online content and sponsor Web sites. It is delivered by e-mail and will be posted on the AFP Web site.

Each year, AFP's Research Department conducts a survey to analyze the forces and trends that impact financial professionals and their ability to advance in their careers, with particular focus on how the impact and perceptions differ among women and men...Topics have ranged from the impact of globalization to management trends to sustaining business innovation.
The 2008 survey asked financial professionals about the impact that the current slowdown in the U.S. economy has had on job security and prospects for career advancement. In early August, AFP distributed the survey to 3,000 corporate practitioner members and another 3,000 members who represent banks, vendors and consultants in the financial services sector for a total of 1,220 responses....
