Description:
Learn to make better-informed decisions when considering off-balance sheet transactions. This session provides an overview of various off-balance sheet arrangements including operating leases, securitization, project finance and joint ventures and explains their structures, their use in accessing and reducing the cost of capital, other benefits that the arrangements provide to corporations, financial reporting impact and other issues to be considered. Best practices for accounting and financial disclosures will be discussed, particularly in light of the June 2005 SEC report on off balance sheet arrangements.
