RSS Feeds

What is RSS?
RSS usually stands for "Really Simple Syndication." Using an RSS feed, you can have the latest news from AFP (as well as many other Web sites) delivered directly to you without visiting the Web site every day. RSS sends you a headline, a short description and a link to read the full article. Its the easiest and quickest way to stay current with your treasury and finance news.

You will find a variety of content delivered via an RSS feed on the internet. At AFP, we publish all of our news and feature articles in our RSS feed. And, if you subscribe to AFP Podcast, you will be utilizing another form of RSS feed.

What do I need to use RSS?
To read an RSS feed, you need a news reader. There are many types of news readers available. Some cost many and some are free. One way you can find a news reader to suit you is to do a search on "RSS news readers" in your favorite search engine. If you use a newer browser like Firefox or Internet Explorer 7, a news reader is integrated into the browser. Firefox also has a number of extensions to help with RSS feeds.

How do I subscribe to an RSS feed?
Look for an orange RSS or XML logo. If you click on the logo, you should see the raw code for the RSS feed in your browser. To properly view the RSS feed, copy and paste the address (also called the URL) of the RSS feed from your browser's address bar into your news reader.

Browsers with an integrated news reader display a logo in either the address bar or the lower right corner of the browser. Clicking on the logo in the address bar will usually add the RSS feed to your bookmarks. Consult your browser's help pages for additional support.
