Letter from the President: Where Are You On the Curve?

Dear AFP Members:

As the world gets back to business, we begin the year by focusing the magazine on risk management, one of the top issues you have identified for the coming year.
 
Looking ahead, AFP members expect four themes to resonate in finance departments this year: working capital management, risk management, globalization and technology. To understand what your colleagues will be doing in these areas, you are invited to attend AFP's first comprehensive Treasury Management Forum in April: www.afponline.org/tmf

The forum builds on the success of previous AFP events, but I like to think that we are taking the information "to the next level."

• Where are you on the working capital curve? What new processes and technology implementations will you put in place to improve that all-important area of treasury management?
• Where are you on the risk management curve? Are you managing risk the way you did before the financial crisis . . . or the way you did several years ago?
• Where are you on the globalization curve? To be successful in a 2010 environment, it is not a matter of how big your company is, but how adept you are when it comes to operating on a global basis.
• Where are you the technology curve? How are you using new technologies to gain efficiencies in your processes?
