More on using AFP's RSS feed:
You can have AFP's news feed delivered to your own custom Web page (such as your Google page), PDA or even cell phone by leveraging the AFP RSS feed. It is accessible through the little orange button that says "RSS" on the AFP home page.
RSS usually stands for "Really Simple Syndication." Using an RSS feed, you can receive a headline, a short description and a link to an article. It is another way to stay current with your treasury and finance information from AFP.
You will find a variety of content delivered via RSS feeds on the Internet. At AFP, we publish all of our news and feature articles this way. And if you subscribe to AFP Podcast through iTunes, you will be utilizing another form of RSS feed.
Several large corporations receive AFP's news through the RSS feed. Of course, most of the content is available only to AFP members even when headline links are delivered through RSS.
What do I need to use to get the news?
To read an RSS feed, you need a news reader. Many types are available at no cost. Just type "RSS news readers" into your favorite search engine. If you use a newer browser like Firefox or Internet Explorer 7, a news reader is integrated into the browser. Some, like the Google Reader, will even let you receive news on your cell phone. There is a nice list of options on this site: www.allrss.com/rssreaders.html
Once you have a reader, look for an orange RSS logo on the AFP home page. To properly view the RSS feed, copy and paste the the URL of the RSS feed from your browser's address bar into your news reader.
Browsers with integrated news readers display a logo in either the address bar or the lower right corner of the browser. Clicking on the logo in the address bar will usually add the RSS feed to your bookmarks. Consult your browser's help pages for more information.
