One of the benefits of AFP membership is access to learning systems to help extend knowledge in global treasury.

Whether working with the Body of Knowledge: Essentials of Treasury Management, The Learning System: Treasury or the many online tools available through AFP, members have many ways to access treasury and finance information to suit their individual needs.

One way to keep up with training tools is to receive AFP's quarterly Training Essentials Newsletter, which is filled with the latest information on The Learning System: Treasury, Essentials of Treasury Management, 2nd Edition, related AFP online educational resources and a variety of custom assessment and training options.

AFP members may receive the Training Essentials newsletters on a complimantary basis through their AFP profile: www.afponline.org/newsletters.

"We are very excited about expanding the menu of custom training products and services we are able to offer our friends and members, and this newsletter will allow us to continue sharing what is popular and what is working well," said AFP's Bryan Gibb, Director of Education and Training.

One of the services is custom training through the AFP Learning System: Treasury. The AFP Training Essentials Newsletter features training products available. For example, the Fall 2007 issue highlighted the Customized Assessment product which helps an organization assess staff strengths and weaknesses in six areas of finance.

The fall issue also contained updates on the new edition of the Body of Knowledge, which is revised every three years. According to the newsletter,"the major difference in this edition of the Essentials of Treasury Management is the introduction of the 'why' in addition to the 'how'."

The newsletter reports that there will be new pricing for The Learning System: Treasury effective this year. For more information, contact AFP Training Solutions Consultant Trever Berry at tberry@afponline.org.

CUSTOMIZED INFORMATION SERVICE

The fall edition also highlighted AFP's Customized Information Service (CIS). According to AFP's professional research librarian, Mariann Kumke, the CIS was created "by combining AFP's proven knowledge of the financial profession with her information research skills. CIS is a tool that supports fast, informed solutions for key initiatives."

"The CIS is a Web page customized to a particular organization in a way that is similar to a MyYahoo! or a MyWallStreetJournal page," says Berry. "It is based on AFP's Web site, but it is a unique and private site accessible to an organization's employees or customers, driven by a paticular organization's needs. You designate the topics; AFP makes sure the content is timely and relevant."

This type of custom information service draws from global financial information, including AFP's deep archive of articles, data, training materials, news feeds, technology and other media, plus a number of related third party services, and is constantly monitored by AFP's professionals. The site changes with an organization's needs.
