AFP Announces New Leadership for gtnews

The Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) is pleased to announce that Michael Hewitt will assume the leadership of gtnews, as president and chief executive officer (CEO) on January 1, 2008. Based in London, gtnews is an on-line resource for the global treasury and finance community. It includes over 2,500 articles, special reports, surveys and guides that are used by more than 47,000 financial professionals worldwide.
Hewitt has more than 20 years of experience as an editor and publisher of multiple publications. Since 1993, Hewitt has held increasingly responsible positions at Haymarket Publishing. He has an extensive background in creating and managing on-line resources.
“Michael Hewitt brings a unique combination of editorial expertise and business savvy to gtnews,” said Jim Kaitz, president and CEO of AFP. “Building on a strong foundation, we expect Hewitt to enhance gtnews so that it becomes an even more important global tool for treasury and finance professionals.”
Rupert Keenlyside, one of the founders of gtnews, who has been serving as a principal at the firm since AFP’s acquisition of gtnews in May, 2007, will be leaving gtnews on September 30, 2007. Thomas Derry, vice president and chief operating officer of AFP will serve as interim CEO of gtnews from October 1, 2007 until January 1, 2008 when Hewitt will assume the permanent position.
