The Certified Corporate FP&A Professional beta exam will open for registrants on August 15. The testing window is open February 1, 2014 through March 31, 2014. To help you prepare for the exam, the Association for Financial Professionals, the organization that sponsors the credential, will launch the AFP Financial Planning & Analysis Learning System™, with content formulated from the various reference books used in the construction of the FP&A examination. It provides a framework of business planning, budgeting and forecasting principles and global standards of practice.

The AFP Financial Planning & Analysis Learning System will cover the five knowledge domains that are outlined in the FP&A Certification Test Specifications:
- Gathering and Interpreting Information: 40 percent of Exam Part I
- Understanding Financial Concepts and Communicating/Coordinating Work with Other Professionals: 60 percent of Exam Part I
- Analyzing Information: 35 percent of Exam Part II
- Building Financial Projections: 35 percent of Exam Part II
- Using Technology/Software: 30 percent of Exam Part II.
The FP&A Learning System™ combines printed books, e-books, case studies, suggested study schedules, and online learning assessment tools to provide comprehensive and flexible training to FP&A professionals worldwide. The FP&A Learning System will be available for purchase August 15 and will ship in late September.
AFP will also offer a three-day review course in January to help candidates prepare for the Financial Planning & Analysis Beta exam in January 2014. More information will be available on the AFP website soon.
Study network to come
As another test-preparation aid, registrants can join the FP&A Examination Study Network. The Study Network is for registered FP&A candidates only. AFP will provide name and contact information so that candidates may contact each other as study partners.
To participate, FP&A certification exam registrants must complete the Exam Study Network application form, available October 1.
