Alberto Nunez of IAMGOLD Elected Chairman of the Association for Financial Professionals Canada

BETHESDA, MD – Nov. 5, 2012 – Alberto Nunez has become chairman of the Association for Financial Professionals of Canada (AFPC). Nunez was elected by the AFPC membership to serve a two-year term.

Nunez was formerly the Vice-Chairman and Treasurer of AFP of Canada and has been a member of both AFP of Canada and the Society of Canadian Treasurers since 2005.

At IAMGOLD, Nunez is responsible for corporate finance, bank relationships, capital structure planning, financial risk management and insurance. Alberto has held several senior treasury and finance roles in a variety of industries including telecommunications, energy, aerospace and consumer services. He holds an MBA, is a member of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada and has over 20 years of progressive financial management experience with publicly traded multinational corporations.

Along with a new chairman, the association also announced a new slate of officers and directors.
