April 2012 AFP Exchange

Treasury for retailers is a blend of old and new, from handling in-store customer payments to financing online global expansion. Perhaps no retailer embodies this balance than lululemon athletica, the Canadian retailer that is the subject of the April Exchange cover story. Chris Negus, head of online strategy and global e-commerce expansion, spoke with Exchange about how the retailer, which specializes in yoga equipment and clothing, implements the yogic concepts of alignment, ease and “forward gaze” in its treasury group. Elsewhere, Exchange takes a hard look at money market funds, examining their long-term viability while asking what treasurers should do with all the cash they’ve been hoarding.
