Wachovia Sponsors Prestigious AFP Pinnacle Award for 12th Consecutive Year

March 3, 2008 - Bethesda, MD – The Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) is pleased to announce Wachovia’s sponsorship of the AFP Pinnacle Award for 2008. Now in its 12th year, the Pinnacle Awards recognize excellence in treasury and finance for successfully developed leading solutions in the categories of Strategy, Innovation and Risk.

One winner is chosen from each category with a Grand Prize Winner to be announced at AFP’s 2008 Annual Conference in Los Angeles this fall. Winners will receive the coveted Pinnacle Award, recognition in AFP’s Exchange magazine reaching over 20,000 of their peers, and the opportunity to present their solution to treasury and finance peers at the Annual Conference. Wachovia will make a $10,000 charitable donation to the charity of choice of the Grand Prize Winner.

“We are pleased to support thought leadership in Treasury strategies and solutions,” said David Trotter, head of Wachovia’s Treasury Services division. “Each year, Wachovia looks forward to sponsoring this important catalyst for promoting and recognizing innovation to advance the industry as a whole.”

According to Jim Kaitz, president and CEO of the Association for Financial Professionals, “The Pinnacle Award honors the most innovative and dynamic treasury and finance solutions created to make companies perform better. It’s about putting efficient and effective operations in place, to make the business of both treasury and finance professionals more robust.”

A panel of treasury and finance experts will evaluate all entries and judges will select one winner from each category based on originality, innovative technologies and successful methodologies. Increasingly competitive, the Pinnacle Award is a highly sought honor in the treasury and finance industry.
