AFP Announces PNC as New Sponsor for Prestigious AFP Honors Program

February 5, 2007 - Bethesda, MD - The Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) is pleased to announce PNC as its new sponsor from 2007 to 2009 for the highly-acclaimed AFP Honors Program.

In its fourth year, the program (formerly AFP 300) has continued to grow, particularly at the senior level, making the selection process even more rigorous than in years past. This significant industry recognition distinguishes a select group of corporate practitioners at the top of their profession, who are chosen from a list of 100,000 by senior AFP staff.

"The AFP Honors recognizes the best of the best in the treasury and finance industry," said Jim Kaitz, president and CEO of AFP. "We are extremely pleased that PNC also acknowledges the importance of this recognition and the achievements of the honorees."

The AFP Honors Program is based on strict criteria which include meeting professional qualifications, career growth, membership in AFP, and certifications such as the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or the Certified Cash Manager designation - the CTP is a seal of approval for setting a high standard of excellence in the financial profession.

The AFP Honors Program will acknowledge this year's winners in a special July/August issue of AFP Exchange magazine and on the AFP Web site at www.afponline.org.

"Celebrating achievement is a fundamental part of the PNC culture. We look forward to extending this celebration of success and leadership across the broad spectrum of financial professionals - in treasury management, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and health care - through the support of AFP Honors," said James Graham, executive vice president of corporate banking at PNC.

The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (www.pnc.com) is one of the nation's largest diversified financial services organizations providing retail and business banking; specialized services for corporations and government entities, including corporate banking, real estate finance and asset-based lending; wealth management; asset management and global fund services.

The Association for Financial Professionals, headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, supports more than 15,000 individual members from a wide range of industries throughout all stages of their careers in various aspects of treasury and financial management. AFP is the preferred resource for financial professionals for continuing education, career development, certifications, research, representation to legislators and regulators, and the development of industry standards. Sponsored by the Association for Financial Professionals, the CTP designation is the globally recognized industry standard for treasury and a requirement for a changing profession. More than 16,000 professionals have earned AFP's certification since 1986. For more information about AFP, visit http://www.AFPonline.org
