SUMMIT, NJ - November 30, 2006 - Tyco International today presented a $10,000 donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation North Jersey Affiliate as part of its recognition as the Grand Prize winner in the 2006 Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) Pinnacle Award program sponsored by Wachovia.
The AFP Pinnacle Awards are presented annually to organizations whose finance and treasury professionals have developed innovative solutions to address cash management and financial challenges. The Grand Prize winner selects a charity to receive a donation on its behalf from Wachovia. Tyco selected the Komen North Jersey Affiliate to receive its $10,000 donation.
"Wachovia is proud to sponsor the AFP Pinnacle Award for the tenth consecutive year," said Wachovia Treasury Services Senior Vice President Linda A. Cascardo, who presented the donation on behalf of Tyco and the AFP. "Tyco's selection of the Komen North Jersey Affiliate exemplifies the spirit of shared success and innovation. Tyco's award-winning program is a prime example of how technology and teamwork can improve efficiency and create solutions for a company. Similarly, Komen, founded on a promise made between two sisters, is a global leader in the fight against breast cancer. "Financial professionals are increasingly being called on to provide strategic solutions and develop business functions that drive efficiency and success across their organization," said Jim Kaitz, President and CEO of the Association for Financial Professionals. "The Pinnacle Award recognizes that dynamic solutions are being implemented by treasury and finance professionals. A unique part of the program is the donation to a local charity in recognition of the winner.
