IAFEI Welcomes the Association for Financial Professionals

March 7, 2006 —The International Association of Financial Executive Institutes (IAFEI), the global association of finance executive institutes has announced that the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) has now become an IAFEI member institute.

Through its select membership program, IAFEI offers finance executive institutes from countries across the world networking, visibility, information access and advocacy opportunities for institutes and their members. Only national level finance executive institutes are considered for membership and are invited to be IAFEI members after a review process.

"This is an important and strategic development for both IAFEI and AFP" observed Dr. Conchita Manabat, the IAFEI Chairperson. "By becoming a member institute of IAFEI, AFP has now taken on the unique honor and responsibility of representing the USA in the only global association of finance executive institutes."

Mr. Karl-Heinz Midunsky, the Executive Director of IAFEI commented "We are delighted to have AFP as a member institute, and we look forward to a long term, rewarding relationship. In an increasingly dynamic and connected global marketplace, AFP and its members can now participate, benefit from, and contribute to the international IAFEI network and interface and dialogue with global peers from other member institutes from both developed countries like Germany, Italy, Austria, France, and Japan and developing countries like China, Phillippines, Chinese Taiwan and Argentina".

"We are pleased about this opportunity to raise the visibility of AFP members and strengthen the resources our members need to connect with global finance organizations in developed and developing countries" said Sally M. Smedal, Chairman of AFP.

Jim Kaitz, President and CEO of AFP continued by adding "Through this new alliance with the International Association of Financial Executive Institutes we will be able to offer information to our members from global peers that can affect the financial decisions of their firm as well as ways to capitalize on opportunities to drive business performance."
