Association for Financial Professionals Names Schub Managing Director, Pension & Investment Policy

BETHESDA, MD -- JUNE 14, 2001 -- Judy Schub has joined the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) as managing director, pension and investment policy. In this role, Schub oversees the development and management of the activities of AFP's affiliate, the Committee on Investment of Employee Benefit Assets (CIEBA), and the association's overall activities in the area of pension-related public policy. In addition, she is responsible for increasing the visibility of CIEBA, advancing the interests of CIEBA and AFP members in pension/investment policy, and acting as the liaison to government agencies, Congressional committees and other associations.

Schub has more than 25 years of experience in public policy and governmental relations. Most recently, she was assistant executive director for the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation in Washington, D.C., where she coordinated legislative and intergovernmental relations. Previously, she was the senior economic lobbyist at AARP, and director of public policy at the National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc.

"Judy's policy and legislative expertise will benefit AFP and CIEBA members' concerns of pension and investment issues," said Jim Kaitz, AFP's president and CEO. "Her strong skills in direct lobbying, coalition building and grassroots advocacy will assure the voices of our members are heard."

Schub holds a B.A. from Harpur College, Binghamton University in Binghamton, NY, and an M.A. from The George Washington University.

The Association for Financial Professionals in Bethesda, Maryland, formerly the Treasury Management Association has grown in the past 20 years into a community of more than 14,000 individuals representing a broad spectrum of financial disciplines. AFP turns knowledge into performance by supporting members throughout all stages of their careers with research, continuing education, career development, professional certifications, publications, representation to key legislators and regulators, and the development of industry standards.
