What Is a Podcast?
The technical definition of Podcast is "a Web-based audio broadcast via an RSS feed, accessed by subscription over the Internet".
Simply put, a Podcast is a series of audio clips, with each installment delivered automatically to your computer after it is created.
The best way to think of a Podcast is to imagine it as a regular radio show - except instead of having to tune in each week at a specific time to hear the show, it is delivered to the listener's computer each week, and can be heard at anytime thereafter. That is the prime benefit of Podcasts - quality content to fit your schedule.

How Do I Listen?
Podcasts are contained within mp3 files - a compressed audio format that allows for large amounts of audio to take up as little memory as possible on one's computer.
All that's needed to subscribe to a Podcast is a computer and an aggregator (also known as a 'Podcatcher'). The most common aggregator is iTunes.
If you don't have iTunes or a similar aggregator, you can't subscribe to the AFP Podcast, but you can still visit the AFP website to listen to each show. To listen, simply click the "Listen via web" link under each Podcast.
Do I Need an iPod to Listen to a Podcast?
No. While Podcasts are often transferred to an iPod for 'listening on the go', they are not required. Once the mp3 has been delivered to your iTunes, the file can be listened to on your computer, in an iPod or other portable mp3 player, or can even be burned onto a CD for listening on a home or car stereo.
