Q: What is the Association for Financial
Professionals?
A: The Association for Financial Professionals in Bethesda,
Maryland, supports more than 14,000 individual members from a wide
range of industries throughout all stages of their careers in
various aspects of treasury and financial management. AFP is the
preferred resource for financial professionals for continuing
education, financial tools and publications, career development,
certifications, research, representation to legislators and
regulators, and the development of industry standards.
Q: What are your member demographics?
Q: Can third party recruiters post with
AFP?
A: Yes. Executive search consultants, contingency and retainer
firms may post open positions with the AFP Online Job Center and
have access to the resume database.
Q: Do you offer discounts to advertising agencies that
post on AFP?
A: No. Advertising agencies that post positions for their
clients do not receive a percentage off the posting price. We ask
that once the agency has registered with AFP, that they forward the
login and password to their client, so that they may manage their
account and search for resumes.
Q: Do I have access to search resumes?
A: Yes. During the tenure of your job posting, you also gain
unlimited access to a resume database of almost 2,500 financial
resumes. To access resumes, employers must first login to their
account and click on the "Resumes" link.
Q: What is the typical response rate on positions posted
with AFP?
A: Responses to job postings will vary depending upon the
location, title, company, and job description.
Q: How much activity does the AFP Online Job Center
receive?
A: The AFP Online Job Center is a niche site and is open to ALL
financial job seekers, including AFP members. It draws the
attention of industry professionals and passive job seekers. The
job center receives over 450,000 hits per month from first time and
repeat job seekers.
AFP membership is comprised of:
- Corporate practitioners who manage treasury and/or finance
functions in their organizations
- Associate members who sell/manage products and services to
financial organizations or perform services/consulting for finance
clients
- Small portion of Academicians who teach finance.
Over 50 percent of AFP practitioner members have a title of
assistant treasurer or higher.
AFP members have an average of approximately 15 years experience
in financial management.
Over 1,300 hold the position of treasurer or chief financial
officer.
Approximately one in six practitioners has responsibility for
controller-related functions.
Average annual revenues of companies employing AFP members is
between $1-5 billion.
