Award Categories

The AFP Pinnacle Awards identify excellence in treasury and finance in three award categories: Innovation, Risk and Strategy.

These winning solutions highlight the work of treasury and finance professionals designing and developing new organizational structures, innovative technologies and processes, and sophisticated performance metrics that are on the cutting edge of treasury and finance.

Risk: Advanced Risk Management Methodologies
These winning solutions award treasury and finance professionals for designing and utilizing advanced risk management methodologies that reduce organizational risk related to financial risks, internal controls and compliance, fraud prevention, business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

Strategy: Treasury and Finance as a Strategic Partner
These winning solutions demonstrate the value that treasury and finance creates as a strategic player within business units and operations by designing optimal capital structures and capital market deal structures to enable corporate growth.

Please note, the 2010 AFP Pinnacle Awards seek to recognize your team's original thinking and initiative. Turn-key vendor solutions will not be considered.

Judging and Publicizing Winning Work

All entries will be screened to mask any material necessary to ensure blind and impartial evaluation by the judges. The sponsors may publish and publicize entries in any manner and without compensation. Entries will not be returned to applicants.

Individuals and organizations submitting entries to the AFP Pinnacle Awards Program acknowledge that they:

  • Grant permission to the sponsors and to anyone authorized by the sponsors to publicize the organization's name as well as photographic likeness of the developer(s) of the winning entry.
  • Affirm that the submission is the original work of the entrants/treasury department and that it does not infringe upon the property rights of any third parties. Further, affirm that the treasury department has the full right to enter the award program and to transfer all rights in the submission to the sponsors.
  • Agree to hold the sponsors harmless from claim by any third parties arising from any use of the submission.

Tips for Submitting a Successful Proposal

Look at the submission categories and decide which category best fits your solution. This will help you frame your strategy for completing the application.

  • Seek input from all colleagues who contributed to the success of your solution.
  • Stress the unique and innovative qualities of your solution.
  • Focus on the value added to your company.
  • Stress the synergies and benefits across your entire organization.
