There are many ways to be AFPAware at this year’s Annual Conference.
Join the fun by volunteering a few hours to help others while you are in San Antonio! Come help revitalize The Neighborhood Place, a place where 90,000 families, children, youth and seniors attended a ballroom dance lesson, shared parenting techniques, shot hoops in the gym, learned to use their computer skills, enjoyed the playground, or just sat around and read a great book last year. You can sign up to landscape, sort donations for the pantry, assemble materials for programs, or sort books and update the inventory for the library.
Register to be a volunteer for this community service project.
The Foundation for Hospital Art’s mission is to give comfort and hope to those who suffer in hospitals by providing them artwork at no cost in order to soften the experience for patients, families and hospital staff.
The artwork for the Paintfest is pre-drawn by Foundation for Hospital Art artists and color coded. The Paintfest will take place in booth 1253. Attendees will have the opportunity to paint during the Opening Exhibit Hall Reception on Sunday, Exhibit Hall Hours on Monday, and Exhibit Hall hours on Tuesday - up until 2pm.
The paintings will be displayed and presented during the closing general session. The paintings will be donated to hospitals in San Antonio, Birmingham, Dallas, and Houston. The paintings are touched-up, signed to acknowledge the sponsorship, and then donated to hospitals to soften the experience for patients, families and hospital staff.
