Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance: An Emerging Force for Economic Growth and Stability

This session will examine the multibillion dollar major economic development projects that are being financed by Islamic economic principles of intellectual, natural and cultural resource stewardship. Discussion will focus on the transformation of the global financial industry with the potential emergence of an Islamic currency and associated trade union.

Objectives

  • Define Islamic banking and finance and discuss how is it similar and different from Western banking and finance models
  • Discover why and how will Dubai develop into the global financial capital of the 21st century
  • Determine the opportunities for public and private investment and partnership between Islamic and non-Islamic businesses
  • Discuss the role will Islamic Economics play in creating a foundation for global economic security
