Jim Kaitz, AFP President and CEO 

JAMES A. KAITZPresident & CEO
As President and CEO of AFP, Jim Kaitz is responsible for managing the operations of an association that represents 16,000 treasury and financial professionals located around the world and which owns gtnews.com, a London-based site that serves 60,000 readers worldwide.  He was formerly Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Financial Executives Institute, a professional association of over 14,000 senior financial executives representing 8,000 companies in the United States.

Prior to joining FEI in 1988 as the Vice President of Government Relations, he was Manager, Trade and Business Affairs in Baxter Healthcare Corporation's Washington Office.  He served as Director, Government Relations for the Scientific Apparatus makers Association and joined FEI's Washington Office in 1983 from Capitol Hill.  From 1978 to 1982 he was legislative assistant to the Honorable James Shannon (D-MA), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee. He is a 1978 graduate of Georgetown University.

 

Tom Derry, AFP SVP & COO

Tom Derry is directly responsible for AFP's U.S. and international certification programs, conferences, product development, marketing, research, and professional training.

Prior to joining AFP in 2003, Tom served as general manager of two business units at LexisNexis, where he held responsibility for all aspects of strategy, business development, sales, marketing, product development, and editorial and technology operations. Prior to LexisNexis, Tom held senior management positions in product development and marketing at BNA, Inc. Tom is a Director of C-Stream Ltd. (London) and a former member of the boards of Tax Management, Inc. (Washington, D.C.) and the Institute of Management & Administration (New York). Tom is a graduate of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.
