AFPAware

The Association for Financial Professionals AFPAware program supports a healthier environment for its members, employees and community. Here are some of the ways AFPAware will play a role at this year’s conference.

Conservation

In accordance with AFPAware, this year's Annual Conference will NOT distribute Handouts at the education sessions.

• You will have online access to all session handouts; we will notify you by late September when those handouts are available. CD-ROMs will also be distributed at Conference courtesy of Fifth Third Bank.

• Session handouts will remain available to you online at the conclusion of Annual Conference.
• Shuttle bus transportation is available but walking is encouraged
• Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified printed collateral

The AFPAware program supports a healthier environment for its members, employees and community. As part of the AFPAware efforts, water stations will be provided around the Moscone Center and within each of the session rooms. You will also receive a complimentary water bottle for your convenience. This is brought to you by RBC Bank.

Involvement

• AFP Annual Conference community service project and donation to Larkin Street
• Donation of unused items to charitable causes in the San Francisco  area

Recycling

• Recycling receptacles in Moscone Center, session rooms and Exhibit Hall
• Recycled/recyclable signage throughout the convention center

AFP and Fidelity Charitable Services invite you to share in the 2009 AFPAware Community Service Project at Larkin Street Youth Services, Sunday October 4. The mission of the Larkin Street Youth Services is to provide a continuum of services that inspires homeless and runaway youth to move beyond the streets.

On Sunday, October 4, the shuttle bus will leave the Moscone Center at 8:30 a.m. Your day will entail preparing health kits that are distributed to youth living on the street. It is a valuable introduction to Larkin Street and the services available to the homeless youth of San Francisco. The shuttle bus will return to the Moscone Center at 12:00 p.m. where you and the other volunteers will receive a complimentary lunch.

You will also receive a commemorative t-shirt and VIP seating at the Tuesday General Session with Robert B. Reich. This heartwarming and productive experience is only open to the first 20 responders, so please reply no later than September 25 to AFPAware

AFP Annual Conference will be working in conjunction with Larkin Street Youth Services as part of its AFPAware program for 2009. The mission of the Larkin Street Youth Services is to provide a continuum of services that inspires homeless and runaway youth to move beyond the streets.
