Bethesda, Maryland - Dr. Alan Blinder, a professor of economics and public affairs at Princeton University and a former vice chairman of the Federal Reserve and member of the Council of Economic Advisors, will speak Oct. 5 on the U.S. and global economies from the perspective of Fed policymakers. The audience will include treasurers and CFOs of the largest U.S. companies.
A year after the economic meltdown, he will discuss the likely future interest rate environment and the impact of the new Administration's policies in addressing the global economic crisis and the implications for corporate treasurers.

WHO: Alan S. Blinder, Ph.D.,Gordon S. Rentschler Memorial Professor of Economics and Public Affairs, Princeton University, and a co-director of Princeton's Center for Economic Policy Studies, which he founded in 1990
Blinder has served on the Princeton faculty since 1971, taking time off for service in the U.S. government-first as a member of President Clinton's original Council of Economic Advisers, and then as vice chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Dr. Blinder is a past president of the Eastern Economic Association, past vice president of the American Economic Association, and a member of both the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Philosophical Society.
He is also Vice Chairman of the Promontory Interfinancial Network, LLC, which was formed by leading figures in banking to provide technology-based services to banks and broker-dealers.
